Different learning through play activities had been conducted for K1 children at PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Radin Mas Blk 21.
Children play a phonological awareness game called "Where Is It? " Each child is given a card with three boxes and 3 connecting cubes. The teacher calls out a set of three words that may contain long vowel sounds. The children listen to the word one at a time and place a connecting cube on the respective box once they hear a long vowel sound.
Children play and learn using a memory board game about places in the community. Each child take turns to find a picture card that is an exact match of places in the community. The game progresses to another level as they play to find a match between a picture card of a place in the community and people doing an activity in such respective place.
At the Role Play Area, children take on roles to be firefighters and victims of fire. As a group, they decide on a scenario where fire breaks out. Children who get to be the victims will call the firefighters for help. Children who take the role of firefighters will pretend to put out the fire with their water hose. Upon given the scenario of victims being caught on fire, children perform STOP, DROP and ROLL.
