Learning Language and Literacy the fun way, sharing by K1 children from AGAPE Child Care (JW) Pte Ltd.

Children presented their favourite storybook in their own words both in English and Chinese. They were the storyteller for the day. They developed presentation skills and language skills as they delivered the story to the class.

Children designed their wishing stars on which they had to write their wishes on after reading the book ‘Pooh’s Wishing Star’ by Bruce Talkington. Children were able to put their thoughts into words and images trough this fun and creative sparking activity.

Comics and its writeup style were explored during the lesson on ‘STORIES TO EXPRESS OURSELVES’ and the children wrote and designed their own comic strips. Children expressed their story in language and the fonts used in comics and this increased their interest in reading different types of reading materials.
