About Preschool Teachers Network Singapore (PTNS)

Another key objective of PTNS is to raise the profile of preschool educators in Singapore. This will be done by engaging the public through constructive conversations with leaders in the industry, active participation in community projects and PTNS's self initiated events, and the release of short media productions to increase awareness for the field. 

 

PTNS’s membership has grown from 300 to 8,925 over the past 4 years. Besides preschool teachers, membership also include professors from overseas and local universities, college and secondary school teachers, parents, and journalists. 

 

The voice of every single preschool educator in the network is significant and valued. Members are encouraged to participate professionally in regular discussions so that preschool teachers’ voices will be taken seriously and with credibility. PTNS encourages all members to voice and share their personal perspectives of any EC issue that they are interested in. 

 

The founder believes that preschool educators need to take a more proactive role in advocating for themselves and the field. With a united voice, an unwavering spirit, a common goal towards advocacy to make a difference in the lives of children and families, preschool educators can proactively raise the quality of preschool education in Singapore, and even impact other parts of the world with interaction with many foreign counterparts who are also plugged into the network.

 

The future is bright and preschool teachers can make it brighter, especially for the children!

学前教师交流网(简称PTNS)成立于2012年7月23日。PTNS的主要目的是打造一个让学前教育者交流、抒发心声的平台。在更广泛的领域里,希望学前教育倡导者能积极改善学前教育者的工作环境与待遇,让学前教育者能发挥他们所长

 

PTNS旨在通过分享成员积极在网络上极讨论幼儿教育课题,来提高新加坡学前教育的质量,并以讨论中所收集的数据作学前教育的研究和开发。

 

PTNS的另一个主要目标是提高新加坡学前教育者的形象。通过与学前教育领导者的建设性对话,学前教育者积极参与社区项目和PTNS的活动,以及短片宣传以让公众提高对该领域的认识。

 

在过去的4年里,PTNS会员已从最初的300位到目前约有8,925。除了幼儿教师,成员还包括来自海外及本地大学的教授及其它工作领域人员。

 

每个学前教育工作者在网络中所言都是重要和有价值。要让各界认真看待及尊重学前教育工作者,PTNS鼓励成员定期参与专业讨论,分享她们对任何有关幼儿教育课题的看法。创办人认为,学前教育工作者无论是为自己或是工作领域,都需要采取更主动的角色,用统一的声音,坚定的精神,共同的目标,以提升本地学前教育的质素,改善孩童们和其家庭的生活,甚至影响国外的学前教育界,一起加入学前教育的网络世界。学前教育工作者可以主动提升的新加坡,甚至影响其他部分的交互与很多国外同行也插入到网络世界。幼儿教师能让学前教育的前途更为光明,尤其是为了孩子们 !

PTNS was formed on 23 July 2012. The primary objective of PTNS is to create a platform for preschool teachers’ voices to be heard. On a broader front, the network aims to advocate for early childhood as a community of practice. As members in the network engage in active discussions on early childhood issues, PTNS aims to improve the quality of preschool education in Singapore by sharing and possibly using the data collected from the discussions for research and development.
